A celebration of seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers. This calendar will guide you on a wonderful journey throughout the year. Beautiful hand-carved linocut prints illustrate each month along with practical growing tips to help you plan the year from seed to harvest.
This calendar is a celebration of seasonal flowers, fruit and vegetables illustrated with full page original hand carved linocut prints.
This is the sixth edition of this calendar and has been created to inspire, encourage and teach you to sow, grow and harvest fresh produce straight from the garden. It also promotes the importance of seasonal, and locally grown organic food and the positive benefits of connecting with nature. The prints this year are all new as well as the text.
With fresh new designs and tips this year we celebrate gardening that is beautiful and productive. Planting flowers alongside vegetables and fruits brings such a joyful sense of beauty and harmony to your garden. They are brilliant for insects and pollinators and encouraging a healthy ecosystem in your garden. Each month is introduced with a poetic offering that captures the essence of the time of the year.
This calendar is a perfect gift for gardeners, allotment growers, vegetable lovers and anyone keen to get started, just needing a bit of guidance throughout the year. Also this will appeal to anyone with a passion for botanical illustration, artisan craft and traditional printmaking techniques.
The calendar has been created by sisters from Devon. Lino-print artist Isla Middleton with, Bryony Middleton, Head Gardener at Sharpham Trust.
Each month will include
- A full page illustration of seasonal fruit, flowers or vegetables.
- Tips and knowledge for the month, including what to sow and harvest.
- A Growing Chart will feature at the back, with an overview of the sowing and harvest schedule
- Dates for the phases of the moon, bank holidays and seasonal festivals.
The calendars are printed on 100% agricultural waste fibre, which is warm in tone and has lovely texture. The folded size will be 300 x 300mm hanging size will be 300 x 600 mm, stapled on the fold, and hole at top for hanging.
