Makers . . .
Abbie Gardiner Ceramics
Very tactile vessels
Abbie is a self-taught maker who hand-builds ceramic forms in a small studio at the top of her garden, on the edge of Dartmoor in Tavistock, Devon.
Her work is captivating and unique in style. It's rounded edges and playful nature makes each piece tactile, yet it is also practical for use in your home. She leaves the surfaces marked with subtle memories of the making process and adds bold colours to emphasise the simplicity of each piece.
Abbie has recently been made an Associate Member of The Devon Guild Of Craftsmen and is a member of The Westcountry Potters & Drawn To The Valley Artists.
Alex Brooks Furniture
Organically inspired wood furniture
Alex has been working as a furniture maker professionally for over 16 years, creating both indoor and outdoor pieces.
He now heads up his own workshop but continues to work closely with his family on all things furniture-related. His dad manages the woodland which supplies much of the wind-fallen timber for the projects. I met Alex many many years ago at Charmouth Primary School where we both share many happy memories.
Though some of his pieces appear simple in design, they are very complex in the making. And, due to the nature of the raw materials in his collection no two pieces are alike.
Immy is an upholsterer, and has been looking after the chairs and sofas of her adopted home in the city of Liverpool since 2012.
She loves all things Scandi, Elvis, strong cups of tea, Anglesey, Dolly Parton & chips by the seaside.
With QEST funding, Imogen undertook the AMUSF Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Upholstery, recognised as a gold standard within the industry. She studied at Kendal Upholstery Workshop.
Her story and style is unique and she creates pieces for your home to make a statement or blend with surroundings. If you'd like a customised piece, we'd love to hear from you to see what we can achieve.

He studied visual arts and 3D design and continues to develop his knowledge of sculpture and material. He has a keen eye for mixing traditional techniques and contemporary artwork.
Brendon is a friend whose work I have admired for many years and it is an absolute honour to share his work with you.
